Vrbanove spice, Begunjski vrh

Perfect weather and free friday was perfect opportunity to do some hiking. This time Vrbanove špice. Path to summit is called route of Lojzeta Rekarja, marked as very difficult way.
After a rough night in Lager bar, John's last night in Slovenia, I picked up Marusa at around 4am. We started just after 5:00 and reached top of Vrbanove špice after four hours. Since we still have some energy left, we also conquered Begunjski vrh, which is only 20 minutes from Staniceva hut.

In the last two days we did a lot of hiking, so it was time to do more relaxing activities. Due to hot and sunny weather we decided to do some rafting.
From Radovljica, they took us to Vrba, from where we started with rafting. Our jurney finished in Radovljica after about two hours. After that we also did zipline and then was time for picnic.

Triglav sunrise

I have been on Triglav for couple times from different directions, but never for sunrise. Our saying is: as long as you do not conquer summit of Triglav your are not a real slovene. So we used this change to baptize a few half Slovenes and one Kiwi.
We started our jurney on friday after work. From Vrata valley we ascent towards Prag and Kredarica mountaing lodge. We took Tominskova route, marked as very difficult. It is named by doctor Fran Tominšek who was the President of the Slovenian Mountaineering Society.
We reached Kredarica at around 10pm.

Blaž and Vlado

Since it was two days trip and we would like to catch sunrise on your highest summit, we woke up at 3am and left Kredarica at 4am. Just after 5am we reached summit.

Aljažev stolp

The Aljaž Tower (Slovene: Aljažev stolp) or Triglav Tower (Triglavski stolp) is a tower, a storm shelter and a triangulation point on the summit of Mount Triglav in northwestern Slovenia. Along with Triglav, it is a landmark of Slovenia and a symbol of Slovenehood. The tower was designed by Jakob Aljaž, a priest in the Upper Carniolan village of Dovje, who also had it erected. This year we are celebrating 120 anniversary, which is on August 7th.

Since I had bachelor party, we separeted on Triglavska škrbina, from where I continued towards Luknja and back to Vrata. On the way down, Plemenice route, I met a group of Alpine ibexes, obviously used to human company.

Ajdna

Ajdna is a summit in Karavanke, in upper Carniola region of Sloveni. A settlement from late Antiquity has been found just below the summit and evidence shows that it was probably inhabited much earlier. Most evidence is from the period immediately after the collapse of the Roman Empire (476 AD), when it seems locals moved to the safety of the peak from the valley below during a period of upheval and migration of various Germanic and Slavic tribes through the region.
